Summary: [Goodreads / Amazon]
In the Community, there is no more pain or war. Implanted computer chips have wiped humanity clean of destructive emotions, and thoughts are replaced by a feed from the Link network.
When Zoe starts to malfunction (or “glitch”), she suddenly begins having her own thoughts, feelings, and identity. Any anomalies must be immediately reported and repaired, but Zoe has a secret so dark it will mean certain deactivation if she is caught: her glitches have given her uncontrollable telekinetic powers.
As Zoe struggles to control her abilities and stay hidden, she meets other glitchers including Max, who can disguise his appearance, and Adrien, who has visions of the future. Both boys introduce Zoe to feelings that are entirely new. Together, this growing band of glitchers must find a way to free themselves from the controlling hands of the Community before they’re caught and deactivated, or worse.
In this action-packed debut, Glitch begins an exciting new young adult trilogy.
My thoughts (Lisseth):
I had heard so many mixed things about this book. I was scarred to read it but I remember seing that beautiful cover & interested in the story that I had to read it! And even bought a copy, it was a really good INVESTMENT! Plus i am probably one of the few who LOVED it! ^__^
The World-building.
I really like the story & world building in Glitch. It really creeped me out at times how empty the people in the community where. Plus the explanations & lies that were uncovered throughout the book were AWESOME and I felt like this could really happen in our world 0__o The chip & the Link were interesting concepts plus added an edge since they were always monitored. (shivers)
The story, the action.
The story was really nicely laid out and i just could not stop reading! Their was action in this book & it was interesting because most of it made ur heart speed up because ur like, "OMG, calm down Zoe" or "NO! Don't let go!" So I really enjoyed it, and it wasn't dull at ALL. Plus i never saw that ending. I was a bit shocked that Max chose what he did, and that ZOE DID WHAT she did.
The Main Character:Zoel.
I though each character was uniquely developed, so they were individuals and had different strengths & weaknesses. Zoel (Zoe) I liked her especially when she was discovering new emotions & I could see that she might just be the leader the Resistance had hoped because she CARED about the rest of the people in the community. I didn't like that she still stood by Max because i would have left him a long time ago.
The Romance.
ARG!!! I liked it & hated it @ the same time. I really didn't like Max, he was pushy, aggressive, and mean to Zoe. He just irritated me all he thought about was falling to "passions" with Zoe. >__< On the other hand I LOVED Adrien. He was sweet to her, caring, and it felt like they had an actual connection. YES, it was insta-love but I mean he knew her from his visions so it wasn't so strange to love her. Plus he fights for her and really shows that he whants whats in her best interests.
Overall I LOVED IT!! It definitively broke ALL my expectations of what i expected from this book. It's a really impressive debut & I highly recommend you give it a try! I am SO LOOKING forward to the Next book, Override! SO 4.5/5 Golden Feathers.

  12. I haven't read this one yet, and I still don't know if I should or not. Usually I don't let bad reviews keep me from reading a book because I like to form my own opinion. But sometimes, when I see people have issues with something in a book that I know I will have the same issues with, I have a harder time making the decision to read it for myself. The one thing that is keeping me from it are the things that I have heard people say about Max. Some of the things that I have heard make me worry that one character will ruin an otherwise good story. We shall see. If I ever run across a copy at the library, chances are that I won't be able to stop myself from bringing it home!
