There is a world of myth and magic that intersects ours, and only a special few can see it. Misao Harada is one such person, and she wants nothing to do with magical realms. She just wants to have a normal high school life and maybe get a boyfriend. All that changes one day when Misao is attacked by a demon.
Her childhood friend Kyo suddenly returns to save her and tend to her cuts--with his tongue! It turns out Misao is the bride of prophecy, whose blood gives power to the demon clan who claims her. But most demons want to keep her power for themselves--by eating her! Now Misao is just trying to stay alive...and decide if she likes it when Kyo licks her wounds.
My Thought's (Lisseth):
This book was during the time I was searching manga's in my Library, and saw the cover & it definetly caught my attention. PLUS the plot for this story was really interesting. I hadn't heard of the Tengu, and it was pretty cool learning about them. =D
I really liked that their was a back story to Kyo & Misao before they meet. It's really cute that they were friends when they were little & now their all grown up & they can reconnect. PLUS he came back for her!
This book is filled with a lot of funny. It wasn't so serious but it made u laugh & Kyo is a HUGE perv, but adorable because Misao already likes him and hits him every time, which makes me laugh =P
This is only 5 chapters but it seems longer! I liked that their was competition for Misao AND KYO. It was all in the way to get to Misao's power but still added a tense-ness to the story & created doubt. Which i liked that Kyo has to fight for her.
DANG but Kyo is COMPLEX. He is protective, dark, sexy, caring, cruel, and has some AWESOME wings =P He acts like a perv most of the time but he's also really sweet & fierce. He's a complex character and i liked that. PLUS his fashion style is more of rock & roll kinda guy. =P [see the awesome wings] he is also a powerful leader of his demon clan.
That whole thing about her being Kyo's bride was weirdly interesting. I mean he eats her he gets all her power, he makes her his wife he gets power BUT can protect her, and he can LICK her wounds & they heal & he gets power. O_O interesting yet weird.
Then Kyo becomes a teacher at her school & a girl demon is trying to make Misao jealous by pretending to be a student. Then a whole ton of things happen at school & and Misao KEEPS GETTING ATTACKED!
It ends pretty dramatically. Misao is attacked, and Kyo protects her & gets injured, REALLY BAD. Then it ends really sweetly with her having to confront the fact that she will eventually become a tengu wife.
Overall, I LOVED the story and the drawings were AMAZING!!! Which I like in a manga. It's an interesting concept for a story & the characters ARE so funny & dangerous that it draws you in. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you read it! SO I am giving it 5/5 GOLDEN FEATHERS!!

PICTURE TIME!
this is how it would look with color...AMAZING!
So what do u think? Interesting or not? Comment & u could win a book! =D

  1. I thought that the main character was an extremely weak character. By the time I got to volume 3, I was ready to kill her myself. All she does it get saved by Kyo.

It has such a great premise, but the storyline just gets a bit repetitive after a while. But I totally agree, Kyo is swoonworthy, even though I feel like he's using her sometimes.
