PUB DATE: October 9th 2012

Format: Ebook ARC

Summary: [Goodreads / Amazon]
Nothing ever happens in Norway. But at least Ellie knows what to expect when she visits her grandmother: a tranquil fishing village and long, slow summer days. And maybe she’ll finally get out from under the shadow of her way-too-perfect big brother, Graham, while she’s there.
What Ellie doesn’t anticipate is Graham’s infuriating best friend, Tuck, tagging along for the trip. Nor did she imagine boys going missing amid rumors of impossible kidnappings.
Least of all does she expect something powerful and ancient to awaken in her and that strange whispers would urge Ellie to claim her place among mythological warriors. Instead of peace and quiet, there’s suddenly a lot for a girl from L.A. to handle on a summer sojourn in Norway!
And when Graham vanishes, it’s up to Ellie—and the ever-sarcastic, if undeniably alluring Tuck—to uncover the truth about all the disappearances and thwart the nefarious plan behind them.
Deadly legends, hidden identities, and tentative romance swirl together in one girl’s unexpectedly-epic coming of age.
My Thought's (Lisseth):
Hmmm...i don't know how I feel about this book. It's definitely interesting. The cover is GORGEOUS!! I went into this with a vague idea of it containing Valkyries. And i LOVE anything with NORSE MYTHOLOGY. SO this was a definite attraction. There was good and bad in it for me.
I LOVED Ellie's relationship to Tucker. It was sweet having her discover his true feelings an seeing him in a new light. He acts like a party boy flirt with everyone else but with Ellie he's sweet and seem like he cares for her.
I liked there banter, and the way they were around one another. I think one of the things that kept me reading WAS Ellie & Tuckers conversations & interactions. Plus he did get really protective and caring as it went along. That part of the book was GREAT!
No on to the not so positive. I'm mixed here. I liked the Valkyrie aspect to the book yet it didn't entice me as I wanted it to. It wasn't flat but it was like "okay". The story was okay and there was action & at times it was like...
"OMG, What is going on! @_@"
Then there were the disappearances of the boys. I mean if ya know there are Valkyries that will come and take you away if ur smart, brave, and hot...
Then DON'T go out at NIGHT!! I mean some of the things were kind of prevented. Ellie goes with Kjell (don't much like him, he seemed like a creep at times. Though I liked him for the jealousy aspect it brought out in Tucker), to a pub and meets the Valkyries & duh don't go with the guy that takes you out of town to prove that rumors are true.
Cutting the ranting short because it seems negative but i REALLY enjoyed the book. I did LOVE the Valkyries and even there brief backstory of how they came to be. I mean, who wouldn't want to control men [almost putting them in a trance] and hello there beautiful & hold tons of power...@_@ yeah, it seems like a nice job. ^_^
Overall, It was a pleasant read and if taken just for fun IT WORKS. But for me it was just okay, although I know A LOT of my friends who LOVED it! So GIVE IT A TRY & ENJOY! =D i give it 3.75/5 GOLDEN FEATHERS!
