Now that Willow Avery is out of rehab, she's got one chance left to prove herself before she’s officially on every producer’s shit list. At least, that's what her parents and agent are claiming. She doesn't really give a damn if she never makes another movie or not—she just wants to get on with her life, get back to her friends, and find her next escape. But Willow is broke. And whether she likes it or not, acting is the only job she knows how to do. When she accepts the lead in a beach drama, Willow finds herself in Hawaii. And in Hawaii, she finds Cooper, the gorgeous surfer hired to train her for her new role. With the bluest eyes she’s ever seen and the sexiest Australian accent she’s ever heard, Cooper’s different from the men she’s used to. He doesn’t want to use her. And he refuses to let her fail. But when an old friend re-enters Willow’s life—a friend whose toxicity she’s been drawn to time and time before and whose presence brings about the painful memories she's tried so hard to suppress—Willow will have to choose between the girl she was and the person she’s becoming. The lifestyle that helps her forget the pain and the guy she’s falling hard for.
I have to say this book is WAY DIFFERENT than Emily Snow's adult books. I was really surprised by how she could write a realistic 19 year old girl with issues. I have read her adult books and that was something that was lacking a bit but not here, NO. This book was a complete 360 from those other books, and i LOVED IT! From the begging we are thrust into a Willow Avery's world; i mean she JUST got out of rehab and BAM she's put into a movie, as the LEAD ACTRESS @_@ this was like 2 hours out of being released. And really it moves pretty fast at times but you never get lost. I really hated how everybody though she was inept to make her own decisions and I agreed with her on many things. Willow has some secrets from her past that we slowly piece together. And really I felt bad for her at times because of her secret :( Really the girl had issues and there were some INTENSE scenes that twisted my heart for her. BUT i loved that she wasn't "perfect" and that throughout the book she has to redeem herself and heal. She does this with the help of Cooper Taylor, her surf instructor. Whom was H-O-T and very down to earth and I liked his character because he wasn't shy about his attraction to Willow and was really sweet and an ass at the same time, complex dude. I really liked him as the love interest because he hates movie stars yet he likes Willow :P Oh, but it's not ALL seriousness. Yes it deals with some difficult issues and the consequences to our decisions but there are some laugh out loud moments and some sweet scenes. Believe me there are some HILARIOUS scenes and the characters aren't all boring and serious either. There sarcastic and witty and make me laugh A LOT! All of which brought up the mood and balanced the novel out :D Overall, this was a sweet romance filled with attraction, hot scenes and a realism that was very much appreciated. I really enjoyed the story and LOVED the characters, like a certain Eric ;) 4.5/5 CRAZY STARS!
A Great enjoyable read! It blew me away at times and it SURPRISED ME!! Give it a chance and READ IT :D
