Bookapalooza Scavenger Hunt with MAKING THE GRADE + GIVEAWAY!

The Bookapalooza Scavenger Hunt Has Begun!

Making the Grade is Celebrating One Year of Blogging! And to add to that celebration, Bookapalooza has been created in order to share our love of reading with all of you - and win great prizes while you're at it. To see all that Bookapalooza has in store for you, visit Making the Grade

An open letter to Scott westerfeld,
I just want to say thank you. Thank you for making a book that a 13 year old me wouldn't have been caught reading. I remember I had just finished reading a super boring book in my English class book and I was like "I am never reading a book again" my teacher heard me and pointed at her private library in the class (which i always saw but never even looked at) and SAID "just because u don't like the class books doesn't mean you should stop reading. Just look around and you can borough any book from here."
I really just picked Uglies at random. The first thing i read was "IN A WORLD OF EXTREME BEAUTY, ANYONE NORMAL IS UGLY", so i took the book home. From the first sentence i knew i was never going to stop reading. "THE EARLY SUMMER SKY WAS THE COLOR OF CAT VOMIT", I smiled and i kept on reading it and finished it by the next day. I never stopped reading after that ^_^
Thank you Scott for making the uglies series, because while reading Pretties, a family friend real close to us was diagnosed with cancer and like Zane there wasn't much we could do. I read pretties and cried in specials. I had found a way to escape the stress and pain but Tally taught me to never give up, stay strong, and move on.
THANK YOU Sincerely from,
Lisseth T.
P.S = It took a few years but i finally have ALL the uglies books and i've re-read them 5 times over, and there ALWAYS on my top shelf! ^_^

  1. I would pick the secong book down, I think. It definitely seems like my type of book, but I'd have to check it out to be sure. Gotta be honest. I'm obsessed with bookmarks. I would totally go for a bookmark, haha.

  2. I would choose What would Emma Do? and the authors influencing me are Rachel Vincent, Tammara Webber!

  3. I would pick What Would Emma Do?

  4. You should tweet that open letter to scott westerfeld! Many authors retweet/reply to thank you notes from bloggers.
    He retweeted me once! =)

  6. kind of hard to read the titles but i think i would choose wood queen

  9. I can't choose..all books seem lovely to me..
When I was a child, I read Enid Blyton's books by chance..& after that I couldn't stop reading..I've read about 1000 books by I'd say she influenced me somehow..I'm addicted to reading..

  10. I also loved the Uglies series. I don't think I could pick just one author/book that influences me to read. The worlds in all different books call to me!

  11. I would pick What Would Emma Do?

  12. I would pick either pretties or uglies! I too have read the series so many times! But I have Uglies in the new cover; they have match! Plus I love the oringinal uglies cover! I saw Scott a year ago at a book fest! But he was SOOO popular that the line was almost a MILE long!

  14. I would probably pick What is Real.

  15. I would pick What Would Emma Do? or what is real...
the author who inspired me to read is jennifer l. armentrout..

  16. I would choose the top book or bottom book. I am drawn by the cover of the top one, and the bright colors on the bottom.

There are so many authors/mangakas that have inspired me to keep reading. I'd hate to make a list, because I know I'd forget someone important.

  17. I would probably choose What is Real. I've heard about it, and heard great things :)
