READ-A-HOLICZ TURNS 2 YEARS OLD!!! [INT GIVEAWAY] - PART ONE

EEK WHERE HAVE I BEEN THAT I MISSED MY OWN BLOG-O-VERSARY?!!! *shoot me now* Seriously I must have gone brain-dead because I totally forgot XP I haven't been on here since in a few days either since work is keeping me dead and tired. But I should know these things right?! ARRRRGG, ANYWAYS.

I feel like this is the first time I'm looking back on this amazing blog I was able to run and manage for so long. I've seen the rise of some epic bloggers, the end of other bloggers, and throughout it all managed to stay *a bit absent at times* but here. You know why? Because I honestly LOVE reading and blogging. I haven't talked with a lot of bloggers in a while but I have my readers who leave me comments and make my day a bit brighter.

I still remember the first time I opened up blogger 2 years ago and decided to blog. Was it scary and weird to blog? A little. Did I EVER think people would look at my blog? Not really. Did my blog have an amazing design? *pffft* OF COURSE NOT!

This blog has been my baby from the begging and I invest so much time and love into it that I don't think I could just up and leave her. This blog has helped me grow in SO many ways as a writer, a reader, a designer, and a person. I remeber my first button I learned to make was from IceyBooks's tutorial. Here it is behold thy beginners button:

My first review was RETURN TO PARADISE by Simone Elkeles. I was SO confused on how to write a review and didn't even know goodreads existed so I LITERALLY took a picture of the book! I remember being straight to the point and just putting my thoughts on there. I was like "how do these other book bloggers put out like 5-7 paragraphs on a review, I can barely write 2!" XO AND YES I STILL REMEBER MY FIRST COMMENT & FOLLOWER!! It was Annmarie Ager from Best Books. She was the first to believe in me and gave me a sense of "I'm not alone" here on the web.

You all know I love spoiling my readers in goodies. Well my first giveaway was for 3 books and I only had 3 people enter so THEY ALL WON! Now I need rafflecopter because If not I wouldn't be able to pick XD Here that button I made:

Oh the memories and such a BIG button XD My first blog tour EVER was for Lisa Bursteins "Pretty Amy" and I got to interview her too! First time talking to an author *soo cool*! It made them more real to me and let me see that there just regular people who love to write and read. And that they don't bite if you say "hi" on twitter or facebook :D

I'm writing this uber late so tomorrow I'll be going to part 2 of my trip down memory lane. But for now I have a giveaway for you all and it's a simple one. JUST ANSWER ANY ONE OF THE QUESTIONS BELOW FOR ME and you'll be entered to win a $10 AMAZON GIFT CARD, OPEN INTERNATIONALLY, and ENDS FRIDAY when the clock strikes 12am. Let's see who really follows my blog. Mwahahahaha }:D *cough, regaining control of evil me* anyways questions tis below:

1. Why do you come by/look at my blog? Is it the giveaways/reviews/the gorgeous design ;)
2. What would you like to see more of on the blog? what would it take to get you to come here everyday?
3. *super important* Are you annoyed by the gifs? And do u think my reviews are too long?

So remember leave your answers in the comments below and ALSO LEAVE YOUR EMAIL SO I CAN TELL YOU "YOU WON!" So that's pretty much it. Thanks for giving me 2 years on this blog. LOVE YOU ALL *HUGE HUGS ALL AROUND* BYE!!

Personally I'm not annoyed by them, they do make the page lag a bit, and make it longer to load - but I'm not that bothered. :) Plus, I think they're really cute! :D Gotta love K-Pop. :3 As for your reviews, nope - I think they're a perfect length!! They're pretty much the same length as mine, and I love your reviews.

I often visit your blog, but I always forget to comment! >.> Need to keep up on this, it's not just your blog either! Thanks for this awesome giveaway. :) And congratulations on turning 2!! :D

  3. Congrats!! Happy blogoversary!! Your blog was one of the very first that hooked me, and I never miss a review or post :)

Question 1: I come by for your reviews, because they're really helpful and tell us if you enjoyed what you read and why. (I'm a follower, by email)

Question 2: I'd love to see movie reviews or TV show reviews if you'd like to do them! I come by whenever you post :) So I'm here all the time anyway :)

Question 3: I think your reviews are perfect, and I love the gifs!!

  4. Happy blogoversary! And congrats on another one.

Question 3: I do like the reviews. Length is fine. I'm not into K-Pop so the GIFs are a little in your face. But 2-3 per post is fine although the ones in the sidebar are a bit distracting, even as I type this.

    To more blogoversaries!

  7. 1. Why do you come by/look at my blog? Is it the giveaways/reviews/the gorgeous design ;)
I'm not all that worried about the designs of blogs. I'm more about reviews and giveaways. I like your manga/manhwa and K-Pop themed entries as well.

    2. What would you like to see more of on the blog? what would it take to get you to come here everyday?
No offense, but I don't think there's any blog I visit everyday. Some days, I just don't stay on longer than it takes to check my eMail(s).

    3. *super important* Are you annoyed by the gifs? And do u think my reviews are too long?
I love the GIFs, especially the bishies. XD As for reviews, I think they should be as long or as short as you want them to be.

Happy Blogoversary!! And, here's hoping you have many more!!

I come to your blog for the reviews! Though you do have a gorgeous design! and I do love to enter giveaways...heheh
I don't think your reviews are too long...I actually like reading longer reviews as opposed to short ones...I like hearing peoples opinions and why they have those opinions...
    I love your gifs!!! They don't annoy me! I think they're great...even if I don't know who's in them....I don't see a lot of k-pop gifs and I think they're fun!

  14. CONGRATS! I've been a follower of your blog for only 4-ish months now- and have enjoyed reading it greatly! ^^

I'll answer question #3: NO! the gifs aren't annoying at all. There are so many book bloggers out there, it's nice to find ones that have similar interests as you or at least let their own individual tastes shine through. That's part of what sets blogs apart from one another. I really enjoy seeing the gifs you match up with the posts.

Keep up the good work! ^^

  15. Congrats!!! I have been a follower of yours since I became a blogger last year:) It has been fun watching your blog evolve. For #3, I have to be honest, gifs DO annoy me because they are too short and also because I am one of those people who has to know everything. Most of the time, gifs are from a movie or show but bloggers dont put what it's from. I totally need to know where it came from because I'm crazy that way!!! Your reviews are the perfect length--keep posting them!!

I think the gifs are adorable though I have no clue about K Pop but I think they are cute! And no review is ever too long express what you think that is the point!

  18. 1. I'm an email subscriber and I usually read your posts when they pop up in my inbox. I don't usually comment on any blog. Why I do that? I don't know. *shrugs* But I read reviews and skip things like Waiting on Wednesday, Hauls and so on.
    3. I use gifs in my reviews whenever I can't really express myself with words but don't use them on every post. That's too much for me but if you love using them, you shouldn't change for anyone. Even if you lost a follower or two. Also, I like longer reviews and there's no such thing as too long review in my case.

Keep up the good work and congrats! :)

  21. I personally love GIFs on blogs, because they bring some personality and quirkiness, so I say stick with them! And long reviews are fine, I think most people love to read and connect with them, especially if it's a book they've read as well. Happy Blogoversary!

  22. Happy Blogoversary! I'm ok with a couple of GIFs in a blog post. But if the blog post is mostly gifs it's really annoying. As if one gif is not enough to convey a thought. And as a blogger, one must be able to convey thoughts into words with or without the use of GIFs.

  23. Happy Blogoversary!

Question 3: I really really love looking at Giffies, They're fun moving pixels. I don't have any problem at that. But, I'm not a K-pop person, so I kind of feel out of place, since most of the gifs are K-pop, but that's just me XD I love Running Man and Appa Oediga! I like K-shows though, Idk, I'm just not into idols, I guess.

I don't mind reading long reviews at all. Actually, I like long reviews. Just as long as it's not a wall of words, I'm fine. It really repels me when there's no paragraph breaks, like all sentences are dumped into only 1 or 2 paragraphs, which I think is not the case with your reviews :))
